NIFT’s selection uses GAT and, for design programs, CAT, with further stages depending on the course. FDDI uses the All India Selection Test (AIST) and applicable accepted routes. Preparation builds creative aptitude, observation, communication, quantitative skills and design awareness.

The Indian Institute of Creative Technologies (IICT) serves Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, Comics and Extended Reality (AVGC-XR). Its admission process includes an online Creative Quotient Test, followed by a personal interview and portfolio review for shortlisted candidates. Fine Art & Applied Art
Sir J.J. School of Art, Architecture and Design offers distinct art, applied-art/design and architecture pathways. Its published undergraduate art admission route uses MAH-AAC CET, followed by the relevant admission process. Prepare for drawing, visual observation, composition and creative aptitude.
Architecture follows a separate course-specific route, including NATA as applicable. Check the current admission notice for the chosen program.
Film & Television
Explore the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune, and Satyajit Ray Film & Television Institute (SRFTI), Kolkata. FTII currently uses FTII-ET. SRFTI lists a Preliminary Selection Test followed by a Final Selection Test.
JET (Joint Entrance Test) was the earlier common FTII–SRFTI route. It should not be confused with Sir J.J.’s art admissions. Intermediate students can begin developing storytelling, observation, visual communication and portfolios; the principal postgraduate film pathways require a qualifying degree.
